Job Title: Business Development Specialist – Machine Shop

Location: Cincinnati, Ohio

We are a leading machine shop specializing in precision manufacturing and custom machining solutions. To sustain our growth trajectory and further enhance our service capabilities, we are seeking a driven and experienced Business Development Specialist focused on finding work for a machine shop.

Role Overview

The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical understanding and sales acumen and will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building relationships with potential clients, and ultimately driving revenue for our machine shop. You will work closely with our engineering and production teams to ensure that we meet and exceed client expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct market research to identify trends, opportunities, and potential clients for our machine shop services.
• Develop and implement a strategic business development plan, focusing on acquiring new business and expanding existing accounts.
• Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders in target industries to enhance visibility and trust in our capabilities.
• Collaborate with our engineering and production teams to understand service offerings and effectively communicate them to potential clients.
• Attend industry trade shows, networking events, and conferences to promote our machine shop and generate leads.
• Prepare and present proposals, quotations, and contract negotiations to secure new business.
• Monitor industry developments, competitor activities, and economic changes to adjust strategies accordingly.
• Provide regular managerial reports and updates on sales progress and market trends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development or sales within the manufacturing or machine shop sector.
• Proven track record of successfully finding new business opportunities and driving revenue growth.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships.
• Strong analytical skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Proficient in using CRM software and other sales tools.
