Join Our Team as a LIRR Car Cleaner

The Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) plays a crucial role in the daily commute of thousands of travelers, ensuring that they arrive at their destinations safely and comfortably. To continue providing the highest standards of cleanliness and safety, we are looking for dedicated individuals to fill lirr car cleaner jobs within our team.

Position Overview

As a LIRR Car Cleaner, you will be responsible for ensuring that all train cars are maintained to the highest cleanliness standards. Your efforts will directly contribute to the comfort and satisfaction of our passengers while helping to create a welcoming atmosphere throughout the rail network.

Key Responsibilities

• Thoroughly clean train cars, including seating areas, restrooms, and service areas.
• Conduct periodic quality checks to ensure cleanliness standards are met.
• Remove trash and debris from train cars and stations.
• Assist with minor repairs and report major maintenance issues to the appropriate personnel.
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
• Work effectively within a team to efficiently clean and prepare train cars for the next round of passengers.
• Interact politely and professionally with passengers, addressing any cleanliness concerns they may have.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, we seek candidates who meet the following qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Prior experience in cleaning, maintenance, or custodial services is desirable but not mandatory.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to cleanliness and safety.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
• Good physical condition, capable of lifting and moving items as necessary.
